Doodling is one way I am able to approach a blank piece of paper
without my mind getting in the way of having fun.
I just start doodling...in most cases white pencil on black paper...
and participate in shapes taking form and flight.
I continue to see new images emerge as I draw and layer on colors.
Life feels this way to me, always unfolding and evolving.
without my mind getting in the way of having fun.

Once during a meditation, we were noticing when our minds took us on a journey while practicing letting go of whatever it was. The idea being, it would be there for us when the meditation was over. For the moment, we were sensing from the larger more open field of the present. As usual, I was being distracted by images that were pretty persistent. Orbs. Beautiful. Shapes relating to shapes.
Sigh...so compelling. But, I let them go... with the secret hope that they would indeed be there later. My reward in the moment, as I sensed from the imageless space of my presence, life showed up as far more than the images that had been there. Still, when I sat at my drawing table later that day, I was happy they met me on the paper.
